Hey guys, I realize I didn't make myself or what I am doing clear in the last post so let me just clarify. I am a new writer and in order to improve my writing skills, I decided to start a blog. Also I like observing the world and all it's aspects and I believe as a citizen of the world we live in, I am entitled to express my opinion. Now I will normally post on the weekend but today is National Poetry day and I just could not wait. Please if you like it comment, If you think I could improve on certain things please comment. Practise makes perfect they say. Now on with the post. In celebration of National Poetry day, I wrote a poem. I hope you enjoy it.
Broken: Broken. Such a word. What does it mean to you ? Nothing but everything, Even the tallest of buildings crumble before the word, Even the most powerful men tremble before the word, Even the intellectual remain puzzled before the word, Broken, What a beautiful perplexity. You build yourself, The seeds of birth grow tall stems The flowers of your personality bloom, The wonderful spring of life welcomes you, But -I fell- your petals begin to wilt, Your stem rejects the sun and hugs the ground, You lose colour and shrivel like an old woman burning in the sun. All to the glory of one word, Broken. Nether the less. The sun still smiles, The moon still frowns, The clouds still wrap the field of the sky, The clocks still tick before they tock, The earth still moves, All the more you wish to say - STOP !- You step back, You breathe, You reform, - I got up- You reject the nasty face of the ground, You pick yourself up then dust off the nasty remnants of the pain you faced, You stare deep into the eyes of the everlasting sun, You shout - I shout -, PEACE, Broken, Even the tallest of buildings crumble before the word, Even the most powerful men tremble before the word, Even the intellectual remain puzzled before the word, But the word crumbles before........ Peace

I am an observer, Its who I am. I watch how people interact with each other but most importantly I see how people interact with themselves. I see people strutting around, filled with so much confidence that It could easily be mistaken for arrogance. Then I observe other people, who are mocked and laughed at simply for being the way they are. I then lastly see the people who struggle to find their identity. I could have stood back and continued observing but what is the point in observing if you don't share what you have discovered. People need to realize that they have the choice but most importantly the freedom to be whomever they choose. Who are you ?
Every second someone is coming into the world but unfortunately someone is also leaving. We are a population, always growing and always decreasing as well. To the earth we are just a number, just a part of a statistic however to each other we are individuals. Individuality. I have always loved that word. Its part of the reason I never agreed with communism, don't get me wrong I am a big supporter of helping society but with communism you lose yourself as an individual to become part of a society. One mind. I couldn't conform to that. The world did not evolve with people of the same mind-set, it grew with people who were different in their own right and because of their unique nature, they contributed part of what they believed in to help the world evolve to what it is today. If we were all the same, could you really see that happening ? No, the world evolved because of who they were as individuals, not because they were integrated in a society were they lost the individual uniqueness. I ask again who are you ? I think by now you are starting to get the theme of my post and you start to get the message that I observe things, but how ironic is it that I have shared my observations on everything else but myself. I won't lie, it is easier to question other things than yourself, it easier to hide the flaws and bury them deep within your mind. They are still there. Flaws are always there. In a way I'm still finding myself, a lot of people are too. To have certain attributes define you, its always hard to decide how you want to be defined but it is even harder to describe who you are to yourself. There was a time in my life where I emphasised so much on the flaws other people imprinted onto me. Like I said people are always so quick to judge but hesitate to question themselves. I wanted to emulate other people because they seemed to have it "figured out" and it seemed to me that who I was only brought more laughter, so why not take the easy why out, why not be someone else. If you are asking yourself those questions then ask yourself also what number you are in the communist society. We are individuals, unique in our own ways. The second you lose yourself to become another person then you might as well number yourself because that's all you will be in the eyes of the communist society but also in the eyes of individuals. I don't have to say that we are all flawed because it is not news. People are always quick to reject their imperfections but they never think twice about embracing them. I wish I had done so because if I did, I would have found the happiness that I needed in myself. You are loud, Your are big, You eat food funny, You snore in your sleep, Your nose is big, You have a funny head shape. All noise from those who have found misguided happiness in emulating others. They are a number, you are an individual. Be proud of that. Do not conform to what other people believe you should be, do not reject your flaws, embrace them. Do not be the number. The world evolves with individuals. I hope I persuaded you to be one of them. Thank you, Ej |
